Managing your tanks

This page covers having more than one tank: adding one, moving between them, putting them in order, and removing one you no longer keep. Each tank has its own dashboard, devices, alerts and records.

You can have as many tanks as you like on any plan. Your plan only decides how many of them get Reef Buddy (see The order decides which tanks get Reef Buddy).

Adding another tank

  1. Go to Settings and tap Add tank, under your list of tanks.
  2. Add Tank opens the full tank profile. Give the tank a name under Tank Name & Type, and fill in whatever else you know, like the type and the water volume under Tank Dimensions. You can finish the rest later. See Your tank profile.
  3. Tap Save Tank.
  4. Cora offers the first-test step. Log a test, set a weekly reminder, or tap Later. See The first-test card.

Then give the tank its equipment:

  • To add new equipment for it, go to Devices → Add Device, pick the brand and choose this tank. See Connecting your equipment.
  • To move equipment you already have, open the device on the Devices tab and change its tank. See Adding, editing and removing devices.
  • To show the tank on Cora Max, go to Devices, open your Cora Max and tap Add Tank under Assigned Tanks. A Cora Max shows up to 4 tanks.

Switching between tanks

  • Dashboard: swipe left or right. The dots at the top show which tank you're on.
  • Settings: every tank has its own row. Tap one to open that tank's settings, like Alert thresholds, Parameter Mapping and Units.
  • Assistant and Intelligence: pick the tank at the top of the screen. See Asking Cora.
  • A notification about one tank opens that tank's dashboard.

On Cora Max, the Reef Room shows every tank side by side. See The Reef Room.

Changing the order

Go to Settings and tap Reorder tanks, then drag the tanks into the order you want. You can also drag a tank by its handle in the list on the Settings screen. Reorder tanks only works once you have two tanks or more.

The order is the order you swipe through on the dashboard.

The order decides which tanks get Reef Buddy

Your plan covers a set number of tanks for Reef Buddy's daily briefing. Cora gives it to the first ones in your Reorder tanks order. On Plus, and during the 30-day trial, that's your first tank only. Pro covers 5 tanks and Max covers 20. More in Plans and subscriptions.

If a tank gets no briefing, move it to the top of the list. Removed tanks don't count.

Removing a tank

  1. Open the tank profile: tap the pencil in the tank header, or go to Settings, tap the tank and choose Edit tank.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Remove Tank.
  3. Cora asks Remove this tank? Tap Remove.

Removing only hides the tank. It leaves your dashboard and your Settings list, and its readings, journal and records are kept. You can bring it back at any time.

These stop for a removed tank: Reef Buddy's briefing, maintenance reminders, and its place in your plan's Reef Buddy count.

When you remove a tank, a de-identified copy of its parameter history goes to reef research, with no link to you. If you don't want that, turn off Contribute anonymized tank data first. See Your data.

Restoring a removed tank

Go to Settings and tap Removed tanks. The row only shows when you have a removed tank. Tap Restore next to the tank. Its readings, journal and devices come back exactly as they were.

Cora Mobile has no way to delete a single tank for good. The only way to delete a tank's data is to delete your account. See Your data.
